Trying to decide on what kind of flowers to have for our wedding has been a difficult decision from the very beginning of the planning process. Our original plan was to use blue hydrangeas since the can easily stand alone and are readily available in July, but after discovering that they would quickly wilt in the hot weather and changing the overall look of our wedding we decided to try to different route.
It took me 8 months after deciding to change the flowers to find the perfect ones. We decided to use pink peonies for the bouquets, cake flowers, and centerpieces and then white roses for the corsages and also for the boutonnieres. There is one problem with this decision. Peonies are only in season from about April to June and are really expensive. We really wanted the peonies so we decided to go the fake flower direction. We found a company online called Wedideas that uses specialty and natural touch silk peonies. Although I haven't seen a picture of my actual flowers yet, the pictures on the website look beautiful. I can't wait for my flowers to arrive!
